Letterman wishes injured Tracy Morgan well

Tracy Morgan’s pals have been sending their best wishes for a speedy recovery – the latest from late-night comedy icon David Letterman.

“I just want to mention here briefly, we have gotten more information – not much more, but it’s good information – regarding our friend, Tracy Morgan,” Letterman said on his “Late Show with David Letterman” on Monday night.

“Over the weekend – perhaps you have heard about this, I think everyone has – in what sounds like an horrific automobile accident, and Tracy had a broken femur, a broken nose, several broken ribs, and they say he’ll be hospitalized for, obviously, for a few weeks, but is, in fact, showing signs of improvement, so we certainly wish you [Tracy] and your family the best.”

Funnymen and women from across the comedy world have been sending their good thoughts to Morgan while mourning the loss of his pal James “Jimmy Mack” McNair, who was killed in the Saturday crash on the New Jersey Turnpike.

Comedian Kevin Hart said over the weekend that he owes much of his success to Morgan.

“We just want him to get better and to get back to everyone that loves him and get back to doing what he does best, making people laugh,” Hart said.
