$1,700 veil blows off bride’s head as she poses for wedding photos

This was no laughing matter.

Stand-up comedian Christie Narvaez, 26, was standing on a terrace on the 21st floor of the Pierre Hotel taking photos – just minutes before she was going to walk down the aisle – when her crystal-encrusted veil flew off of her head.

The bride’s hairstylist had just secured her $1,700 Toni Sederici veil on Narvaez’s head before she stepped onto the terrace of the hotel’s wedding suite for a pre-wedding photo-op.

“She said this is not moving,” Christie recalled, adding that she had an army of bobby pins in her hair.

Luckily her now-husband and fellow comic, Joe Narvaez, caught a quick glimpse of his blushing bride before the pricey head piece she bought at the Chelsea bridal boutique Kleinfeld’s blew away.

“Her husband saw her about 30 seconds and then it was gone,” Pasqua’s mother, Lory Pasqua, told the Post. “It could be in Chicago for all I know.”

Joe Narvaez had just kissed his soon-to-be wife when he heard her say, “Oh my God.”

“I watched it go right, then a quick left and then gone,” Christie Narvaez said. “It went up so fast, it was like a tornado.”

Christie Narvaez’s father, William, took off down Fifth Avenue in his tux to try to track down the runaway veil, but had no luck. Her bridesmaids rallied to save the day, running down the street to Bergdorf’s in their dresses to try to find another long white veil.

““It was very Sex and the City and everyone was just staring at them,” Christie Narvaez said.

“I had a new veil in 10 minutes.”

The Narvaez’s said as comedians, they are trained for emotional roller coasters.

“This is our lives – happy one minute and chaos the next,” Joe Narvaez said. “When you’re on stage, one minute the audience loves you and the next minute they hate you.”

The bride is hoping that with a little help, she’ll be able to get the veil back.

“If someone can find their grandfather from 75 years ago after being adopted, let’s hope that we can find a little piece of cloth that’s gently flying over the city,” Joe Narvaez said. “If we get it back, we will definitely cherish it forever.”

Christie and Joe Narvaez’s love story was featured on the TLC show, “Say Yes To The Dress.” The episode includes the moment she first fell in love with the veil.
