It’s a hawk on the wild side.
Some of late rock legend Lou Reed’s musical gear went up for sale at an eBay auction Wednesday, offering die-hard fans a chance to score collectors items at bottom-of-the-barrel priceson Wednesday.
Starting bids for the “Walk on the Wild Side” singer’s equipment — which includes keyboards, amps and distortion pedals — range from $100 to $1,200.
The highest bid for Reed’s Eventide guitar effects petal was just $122 on Wednesday and his Kurzwiel keyboard had fetched only $750.
Nobody had bid on his Pendulum pre-amp, which featured minimum bid of $1,200.
“Over the past thirty years, Lou Reed amassed a large collection of equipment in support of his many tours,” reads a post on the rocker’s official Facebook page.
“While all of his most important guitars, amps, and effects will be kept by Sister Ray Enterprises for his archive, there are many pieces of musical gear and road cases that need to be sold,” it notes.
The eBay site will updated daily with new Reed items during the next few weeks, the page notes.
Reed, the frontman for the Velvet Underground, died on Oct. 27 of liver disease at age 71. Monday is the last day to bid. The last day to bid on his gear is Monday.
