Look who’s in the driver’s seat!
Mayor de Blasio took a full holiday from responsibility on Tuesday — letting teenage son Dante drive their inflatable boat on vacation in Capri, Italy.
Video captured by an Italian news outlet shows the New York mayor in Hawaiian swim trunks sitting in the back of the boat while a shirtless Dante confidently takes the wheel.
Afro-wearing Dante has been surrounded with photographers screaming his name in Italy, but the teen seems perfectly at ease while slowly maneuvering their yellow rental boat through the port.
The clip shows the mayor yawning for several seconds, perhaps exhausted from a visit to Capri’s famous Blue Grotto sea cave.
European fun doesn’t come cheap: boat company Capri Whales lists the dinghy rental as costing 90 euros (about $120) for two hours of father-son bonding.
After two nights in glitterati hotspot Capri, the de Blasios and their staff entourage are off Wednesday for Sant’Agata de’ Goti, hometown of the mayor’s maternal grandfather. The tiny village of 11,000 is hosting an event in honor of Hizzoner aptly called “Welcome Home Bill.”
