This would-be burglar couldn’t hack it.

A not-so-sharp thief tried to saw his way into an ATM in a Borough Park bank, only to leave empty-handed, authorities said.

Investigators said the crook tried to crack the machine in the Berkshire Bank on 13th Avenue near 51st Street just after midnight Monday, using a drywall saw, but gave up and fled empty handed.

Bank workers noticed damage to the ATM when arriving for work at 9 a.m., Tuesday, and called the cops.

The suspect (above) is believed to be in his late 30s, about 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds.

Queens

A rotund robber used his hand as a fake gun to fool a livery cab driver into turning over cash, cops said.

The suspect hopped into the car at 85th Avenue and Parsons Boulevard in Jamaica on Sept. 1 at about 2 p.m. and asked the driver to make a few stops, police said.

When the car stopped at 131-25 Avery Ave. in Flushing, the suspect pretended he had a gun and demanded money from the driver, according to cops.

The suspect fled on foot with $300, police said.

The perpetrator is 5-foot-6, 200 pounds and has a scar on his forehead, police said.


Three thieves stole $26,000 worth of jewels in a terrifying gunpoint heist in Rego Park, authorities said.

The gunman and two accomplices burst into David & Son Jewelers, pulled a gun and fired one round into the floor of the Queens Boulevard shop on Sept. 5 at about 1:45 p.m., police said.

No one was struck, but the suspects quickly grabbed several diamond and gold bracelets, cops said.

The trio fled in a gray BMW, according to police.

On Aug. 16, one of the suspects had pistol-whipped a 64-year-old worker inside Wolf Jewelers on Myrtle Avenue in Glendale, cops said.

The suspect fled empty-handed and the victim declined medical attention, authorities said.

Bronx

Two robbers trailed a man to his Fordham Heights apartment building and stuck him up, cops said.

The duo followed the 36-year-old victim into the lobby of his building on Creston Avenue at 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 8, but the man was leery about getting into the elevator with the strangers, police said.

One of them then whipped out a gun and the crooks demanded the victim’s property in Spanish, according to police.

The thieves grabbed the victim’s Samsung Galaxy s5 cellphone and $200 before fleeing, officials said.

The victim was not hurt, authorities said.

One suspect, believed to be in his late 20s, is about 6-feet tall and 200 pounds.

His accomplice, believed to be in his early 20s, stands 5-foot-7 and weighs 160 pounds.

Manhattan

A java junkie busted for shoplifting coffee from an East Harlem supermarket got burned when store security found an illegal handgun on his hip, authorities said.

Christopher Cialone, 31, tried to sneak out of the Pathmark on East 125th Street near Lexington Avenue with two packages of instant coffee around noon Monday, but was nabbed by store security, according to cops.

While waiting for police to arrive, the guards noticed a .25-caliber Raven handgun in a holster on the caffeine fiend’s right hip and confiscated it, authorities said.

Cialone, of New Hyde Park, LI, was charged with weapon possession, petit larceny, and possession of stolen property.
