Ian Schrager’s team just spent $4 million on their 215 Chrystie St. model apartment that was revealed to the press on Tuesday.
He described the mixed-use building — where 11 apartments on top of an as-yet-unnamed hotel will start at $7 million and run to $23 million — as “tough lux.”
In an interview with Gimme Shelter, Schrager said that there are already three buyers lined up — one New Yorker and two Europeans. When asked what type of buyer will be attracted to the building, he said: “We appeal to a psychographic, not a demographic.”
Douglas Elliman’s Dennis Mangone and Kirk Rundhaug are handling sales.
