Green activists plan to try to shut down the New York Stock Exchange on Monday as part of a “Flood Wall Street” movement.
The group will be dressed in blue and meet at 9 a.m. in Battery Park to listen to speakers such as writer Naomi Klein before gathering for a mass sit-in on the steps of the exchange.
The protesters will carry a 300-foot banner that says “Capitalism = Climate Chaos. Flood Wall Street.”
The gathering comes after the massive People’s Climate March in Manhattan on Sunday, where tens of thousands of people marched from Columbus Circle to 34th Street and 11th Avenue.
There also will be high-level meetings all week at the UN — including a Climate Summit and world conference on indigenous people — that will choke traffic and require heavy security.
