A Staten Island street was officially renamed on Monday for decorated, retired NYPD Sgt. Peter John McPolin, who was killed in a car accident in March.

McPolin — the cousin of Post Sunday news editor Paul McPolin — suffered an apparent heart attack while driving in New Jersey. He was 53.

The corner of Greencroft Avenue and Keegans Lane in Great Kills was renamed NYPD Sgt. Peter J. McPolin Jr. Way in his honor. The sign was unveiled in a ceremony early Monday.
