The great Prince sex debate rages in Giants locker room

Sex always seemed to help Broadway Joe Namath.

And now Antrel Rolle and Giants teammates believe Prince Amukamara’s surging swag and emerging performance on the field is directly related to his performance in the bedroom.

“You can see that he’s getting comfortable being the type of corner that he is, aggressive. … I don’t know if it has anything to do with his personal relations in the bedroom, but I know that he’s definitely feeling more and more aggressive, more and more comfortable, and I guess you can credit that to his wife,” a smiling Victor Cruz told The Post.

It was Rolle who first volunteered that Amukamara’s much-chronicled flagging swag had taken a dramatic turn for the better now that his days as a devout Catholic virgin — aka The Black Tebow — saving himself for marriage had ended over the offseason.

“For one, he’s married, so he’s [enjoying some things that he wasn’t experiencing before he was married],’’ Rolle told NJ.com. “For a man, that could definitely help him out. For a man … I’m just being honest … it’s helping him out. He walks around with a little more swagger, which is something that we need.”

A bemused Amukamara tried to intercept any possible connection.

“I wouldn’t see how me being with a woman could give me swagger,” Amukamara told The Post. “It’s not like I never had girls into me before my wife.”

Rolle, informed Amukamara had offered that having sex was not the reason for his raging swag, said: “He’s lying.” Rolle, headed for the shower, turned back and added: “That’s the ONLY reason.”

Amukamara cites experience in the league and in the same system for a fourth straight season as reasons for his rise as a shutdown corner.

Rookie Odell Beckham Jr. thinks Rolle is onto something.

“When I first got here, he was not so much a quiet guy, but I watched him work day in and day out, and as the season came and he started making plays, and apparently he started [having sex] or whatever they’re saying, he developed a little more swag,” Beckham told The Post.

“It’s kinda like when you have like a pit bull puppy or something, and they’re still young and you know have that dog in ’em, but their nuts haven’t dropped yet. So it’s kinda like he’s at that process of them dropping. I like it. I love it, actually. We talk mess to each other — actually we were talking today at the last period.”

Beckham was asked if he subscribed to the theory.

“It’s good to an extent,” he said, and chuckled, “but you don’t want to do it too much, you’ll have no legs.”

Damontre Moore won’t argue there is indeed something different about Amukamara.

“I don’t know what it is, it might be that, it might be something, but you can definitely tell he got a new swag about himself,” Moore said. “He’s more aggressive, he’s not sitting back, he’s more vocal. … He’s just being more outgoing, and it transfers on the field. It seemed like he took his game to a whole other level.

“I seen on Sports Science they did an episode where they tested a guy before he had sex with his wife and once they came back, they tested him immediately afterwards, and all his numbers like went up strategically, so they said it proved that if you have sex before you go out, it can increase your hormones and everything, so maybe it’s one of those things for him.”

Asked if he subscribes to that theory, Moore smiled and said: “No I don’t. My girlfriend’s not here, I don’t subscribe to that theory. My girlfriend’s in Texas.”

Amukamara was asked if his wife, Pilar Davis, a California girl he met here, thinks he has swag.

“That’s such a great question,” he said. “Yeah, I would say so. She would say that I probably play the naive card a lot. She always says, ‘I don’t know why your friends don’t think you know what’s going on, because it’s obvious you know what’s going on,’ and stuff like that. No, I think she thinks very, very, very highly of me in swag. She said yes when I asked her to marry me. … Sorry if this sounds like a love story.”

Amukamara’s reaction when Rolle told him he had told the media his sex theory?

“He told me [Wednesday] what he said, and we just laughed it off,” Amukamara said. “But I definitely didn’t think it was gonna blow up quite like it did, but of course it did.”

He added: “I kinda didn’t think he really said that ’cause I’m like, ‘There’s no way you said that, that sounds a little too X-rated,’ but just thinking about Antrel’s past, he has said some crazy stuff, so I would expect it.”

And:

“I know I’m gonna have a lot of explaining to do to my wife, ’cause I know her phone’s probably blowing up. But just out of respect for her, I don’t want to comment on what happens in mine and my wife’s house.”

Amukamara, though, does concede marriage has helped him.

“I think that’s what ’Trel meant, marriage definitely helps a lot in maturing me,” he said. “I’ve been learning a lot just with being patient. Learning to put my wife before me. I think as human beings, we’re all naturally selfish, so the fact that you’re like accountable to another human being, and you have to take care of them just by putting them first and being patient, because we both try each other’s patience a lot.”

Amukamara even sounds like a different man from the one who was dumped into a cold tub by Jason Pierre-Paul when he says: “I think I’m just probably realizing how great I can be.”

It is believed he meant on the field.

“I think Prince has been doing a phenomenal job,” Rolle said, “and we just need him to continue to keep rising.”

It is believed he also meant on the field.
