A California congresswoman wants New York’s top cop to clean up the Secret Service.
Janice Hahn (D-Calif.) is throwing Bill Bratton’s name into the mix to be the next director of the embattled federal agency.
Hahn plans to recommend Bratton to Vice President Joe Biden when the veep flies to LA Tuesday for a meeting. Bratton once headed the force there.
“I just think Bill Bratton is very good at coming into a law-enforcement department and turning it around, and that’s what our Secret Service needs,” said Hahn.
The NYPD’s Chief Spokesman, Stephen Davis responded to Hahn’s Secret Service idea by saying: “[Commissioner Bratton] really appreciates the vote of confidence, but he’s where he wants to be and he wants to stay here.”
