Cops under investigation after hitting unarmed teen with gun

A pair of NYPD cops chased down a teen and hit him in the face with a gun — even after he stopped running and raised his hands — prompting a criminal probe into the incident, according to law-enforcement sources and surveillance footage.

Kahreem Tribble, 16, first was spotted by Police Officers David Afanador and Tyrane Isaac in Bed-Stuy on Aug. 29 peering suspiciously into the window of a parked van, sources said. Tribble then tossed the small canvas bag in his hand and started running when he saw the cops, they said.

But then Tribble “got tired and put his hands up, and they attacked him with a weapon. They cracked his teeth,” said the teen’s defense lawyer, Amy Rameau.

“It’s disgusting. It’s absolutely disgusting what they did to that boy,” she said.

Both the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office and NYPD’s Internal Affairs are investigating the incident.

“They should be ashamed. They should be criminally prosecuted,” Rameau said of the officers.

Surveillance video first obtained by DNAinfo shows Tribble slowing to a stop and putting up his hands before one of the chasing cops punches him in the face.

After the teen lies down in front of a storefront gate, the other cop slams him in the face with a gun, according to the video and a law-enforcement source.

Tribble was charged with resisting arrest and several marijuana charges, presumably from pot found in his bag, but the next day he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was released.

Afanador was suspended, and Isaac is on modified duty, cops said.
