Bill Murray is one of Hollywood’s most mysterious heroes, so it should come as no surprise that his latest project is a real head-scratcher.
The 64-year-old actor, currently starring in “St. Vincent,” is working on a TV Christmas special in which he’ll sing holiday classics.
“It’s not going to be live,” Murray told Variety. “We’re going to do it like a little movie. It won’t have a format, but it’s going to have music. It will have texture. It will have threads through it that are writing. There will be prose.”
The special will be directed by Sofia Coppola, who worked with Murray on the 2003 film “Lost in Translation.”
“Not sure when it will air,” she told Variety, “but my motivation is to hear him singing my song requests.”
Fingers crossed that those requests include “Santa Baby.”
