The jazz musician linked to Philip Seymour Hoffman’s drug overdose missed his court date Tuesday because he’s been hospitalized in critical condition, his lawyer said.
Robert Vineberg, who was due to be sentenced on drug charges in Manhattan Supreme Court, is in an ICU for non-drug related issues, attorney Alex Spiro said.
Spiro declined to comment further, saying, “My thoughts are with him and his family.”
The 58-year-old Canadian citizen — who’s recorded with Amy Winehouse and Wyclef Jean and was good pals with the Oscar Award-winning actor – was arrested last February after cops raided his Mott Street apartment and found more than 250 glassines of heroin.
He denied selling Hoffman the fatal batch of smack and called himself a “scapegoat” in the “Capote” star’s death, he told The Post in an exclusive interview.
In August, Vineberg pleaded guilty to drug possession charges in exchange for 25 days community service and five years probation.
He also was ordered to continue attending a drug treatment program for a decades-long heroin addiction.
At the time, he vowed to stay clean so he could continue playing music.
A cell phone number for Vineberg was disconnected.
