Cops in New Orleans got help identifying a pair of armed robbery suspects from people they least expected — the buffoons who committed the crime!
Pictures of the unidentified young men posing with pistols were posted to a cellular account of one of three women who were robbed at gunpoint around 4 a.m. Monday just outside the French Quarter, Reuters reports.
In the photos, the suspects are each dressed in blue shirts and are accompanied by another young man in a white shirt, who also brandishes a gun.
Authorities are now releasing the self-incriminating photos in hopes of nabbing the proud robbers, who can be seen cracking smirks and nonchalantly aiming their weapons at the camera.
When the 20-year-old and two 19-year-old girls were walking down a Marigny neighborhood street, two men with guns approached them.
“This is real, give me everything you got!” demanded a man with dreadlocks, according to Reuters.
They immediately handed over their purses and cellphones before fleeing to safety. During the investigation, cops amazingly discovered that the boneheaded suspects had posted images of themselves to one of the victims’ accounts.
Despite the extra help, no arrests have been made in the case.
