The first Dallas nurse to contract Ebola is heading to a hospital that is specially equipped to deal with the deadly virus, according to reports.
Nina Pham, the first person to get Ebola in the US, was expected to be moved sometime Thursday afternoon, NBC News reported.
The National Institutes of Health in Maryland is one of four biocontainment units in the country.
It has the most space out of the four hospitals, boasting four to seven beds, to handle infectious diseases like Ebola.
The other three specialized hospitals are spread out throughout the country and include Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha and St. Patrick Hospital in Montana. Combined, they can only hold 13 patients total.
Pham, 26, is one of two Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital nurses who contracted the virus after caring for Thomas Eric Duncan, a Liberian man who traveled to Dallas after coming into contact with the disease and died last week.
