Luxury Italian menswear line Isaia has sewn up a deal for its first freestanding store in the US. The maker of stylish, well-crafted suits and sportswear has signed a lease for a multilevel, 6,000 square-foot store at 819 Madison Ave. between East 68th and 69th streets.
Isaia — rooted “in a Neapolitan sartorial tradition,” its Facebook page says — will occupy a large chunk of the former Donna Karan boutique on Madison Avenue’s most gilded stretch.
Its collection until now has only been available in New York at Barneys and Saks Fifth Avenue.
The lease was co-brokered for the tenant by Lee & Associates NYC Managing Director Harris C. Bulow and Crown Retail Services’ Christopher J. DeCrosta . Landlord Friedland Properties was repped in-house by Aaron Prince , Silvie Shames and William Friedland.
The asking rent on the 15-year lease was $1,400 per square foot on the ground and $350 to $500 on upper floors.
Bulow, who came up with the concept for the deal, said that 819 Madison “was a natural location for Isaia’s New York flagship.”
