Last season on “The Real Housewives of New York,” Countess LuAnn de Lesseps was demoted from “Housewife” to a recurring “friend of the Housewives” — meaning she wasn’t one of the leading ladies in the show’s intro.
But Tuesday night at the Woman’s Day Red Dress Awards at Jazz at Lincoln Center, she said that likely won’t be the case for the upcoming season.
“I’m pretty sure I’m back full time,” she said. “I think I’ll be holding an apple.”
“Housewives” head honcho Andy Cohen discussed the Countess’ demotion last season in his recent book, “The Andy Cohen Diaries,” saying, “I had to tell her that although she’s all over the show, she doesn’t have her own story line. She’s not a happy Countess. So that was a fun conversation to have. Not.”
But de Lesseps insists there’s no bad blood.
“I think it’s fine. Andy and I have a good relationship, so I’m glad he’s open about it,” she said.
De Lesseps also revealed she has a new song under her belt, following her two previous club bangers, “Money Can’t Buy You Class” and “Chic, C’est La Vie.”
“I do have a song that my son is like, ‘Mommy, you gotta release this song.’ So I’m thinking about maybe releasing it, maybe during the [upcoming] season at some point,” she said. “It’s an old classic that I remade into a dance song that I did years ago. He’s like, ‘Mom, it’s by far your best song.’ I can’t tell you what it is yet, but I think you’ll like it.”
