A hardhat died after steel beams fell on him while he was working at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
The 52-year-old iron worker, an employee of Greenland Forest City Partners, was part of a construction crew installing a “green roof” at the facility at Fort Greene Place and Atlantic Avenue when he was crushed by the falling beams just after 1:30 p.m., according to authorities and the company.
Fire officials say the man was rushed to Brooklyn Hospital in cardiac arrest, where he was later pronounced dead.
Cops said they are withholding the construction worker’s name pending family notification.
