The Port Authority Bus Terminal is flushing away its beat-up old bathrooms.
Two new renovated restrooms opened last week featuring upgraded flooring, walls, partitions, lighting, and plumbing fixtures, a Port Authority spokesman said Tuesday.
The revamp includes two “modern new” bathrooms on the second floor and 14 more ones that will be renovated next — a project that will cost the Port Authority roughly $13 million, the spokesman said.
It comes as part of a larger, $90 million renovation to make it better for commuters that includes improved cell phone and internet reception in southern part of the terminal.
