The politics of Washington, as shown on the Netflix hit “House of Cards,” is full of figurative hot air — enough to blow a house down, according to “Sesame Street.”
The always-relevant kids show released a parody of “House of Cards” on Monday called “House of Bricks” starring Frank Underwolf, who borrows Kevin Spacey’s scheming Southern drawl from the show.
It’s a classic big-bad-wolf-versus-three-little-pigs tale — except the third house is a “white house” of bricks. The clip is full of references to its dramatic inspiration, with Underwolf making hammy asides to the camera and rapping his knuckles on a desk in that signature Frank Underwood style.
Kids probably (hopefully) won’t get the references to the show, but “Sesame Street” has been on a roll lately with the topical parodies, including a pitch-perfect (and rather adult) parody of new Oscar Best Picture winner “Birdman.”
