The California woman who suffered gruesome leg injuries when she was pinned between two yellow taxis is showing some New Yorker grit as she begins a long and painful recovery process.
“I’m in a lot of pain,” Rosemarie Mifsud, 42, of Livermore, Calif., told The Post from her bed at Bellevue Hospital on Tuesday. “I’m trying to be positive and trying not to complain or be like woe is me.”
Mifsud’s legs were pinned between two cabs at 49th Street and Seventh Avenue on Monday morning. She underwent major surgery on Monday afternoon.
The driver whose car slammed into her said his brakes had failed.
“I hope this raises people’s awareness and prevents this from happening to anyone else,” Mifsud said.
