We mean no disrespect when we say Vince Vaughn has never been funnier than posing for these stock images — an ad campaign for his upcoming film “Unfinished Business.”
The new film, out Friday, stars Vaughn as a small-time business owner whose big break — a major business trip to Europe — devolves in Vaughn-like slapstick, dragging Oscar-nominated Tom Wilkinson and Dave Franco along with him for the ride.
Wilkinson and Franco joined Vaughn for the viral images, which lampoon the perception of stock art — as oomphless, flat, fake and tacky. Take a look.
We bet we can figure out what they’re so excited about: “This is the first and last time we ever have to dress in Men’s Wearhouse! Don’t cut us off next go-round at the Oscars, Giorgio — this is strictly for an ad campaign!”
Vaughn’s thinking: “This is sort of like that time in ‘The Internship’ when my cloudy, befuddled gaze betrayed my confusion about starring in a half-baked movie that made ‘The Wedding Crashers’ feel like Chekhov.”
We can practically read Franco’s mind right now: “Dude — I’m so hung over from last night … I have this huge presentation, and I keep drawing these graphs, but the truth is the whiff from these markers feels pretty darn good right now.”
This conference room shot screams, “You know I’m the most important one in this movie, because I’m at the top of the pyramid! See you suckers at the bottom of the marquee!”
