A 10-year-old boy died Friday after jumping from the second-floor window of his New Jersey elementary school, reports said.
His death is being investigated as a possible suicide, said WNBC/Channel 4.
The fifth-grader had a dispute with a classmate over a game of chess, then passed that student a note before opening a window and jumping out, sources told the station.
The boy fell about 25 feet before landing on a concrete sidewalk.
He was rushed from the Dumont school to a hospital at about noon, but died at around 5 p.m., the Bergen Record reported.
