Rapper Cash Cow says he was so outraged that cops forced a mentally disabled janitor at a Bronx precinct house to wear his signature T-shirt proclaiming “I’M DOPE’’ that he’ll hold a fund-raiser in her honor.
Cash Cow, a k a Justin Ross, of upstate Elmira, promised Friday, “We are definitely going to do something — have a karaoke night or something.’’
The janitor, Hannah Biggan, is suing the city and three cops at the 52nd Precinct — where she worked for 23 years — for an unspecified sum of money.
“Hannah Biggan is more than what she is. There are a lot of Hannah Biggans all over the place and we want them to know they are supported,” Ross said.
In her deposition, Biggan said she couldn’t read the T-shirt, but she thought it meant “kind of, like, I was stupid.”
But Ross, who uses the line in a song, said it’s really a catchphrase that should be taken as a compliment.
“ ‘I’m dope’ is basically saying ‘I’m cool, I’m hot, I’m smokin’, I’m the best,’ ” he said.
Biggan said the humiliation made her feel depressed and suicidal and she had to take a leave of absence.
“We are heartened that Cash Cow has reached out to our client and wants to help bring a small glimmer of hope to this otherwise awful situation,” according to a statement by Borrelli & Associates, a law firm that represents Biggan in the civil suit.
