Model Cara Delevingne proves she’s more than just ridiculously good-looking in the new trailer for “Paper Towns,” an adaptation of John Green’s hit young-adult novel.
In the high school love story, Delevingne plays Margo, the cool girl in town and — naturally — the object of nerdy Quentin’s (Nat Wolff of “Palo Alto”) affection. Once the two connect, she disappears, “Gone Girl” style.
In the trailer, Delevingne seems pretty much to play herself, honing her usual rebel-without-a-cause vibe, accented by those bold brows and a decent American accent.
This is Delevingne’s first role in a major film since 2012’s “Anna Karenina,” where she had a bit part alongside Keira Knightley.
Green told USA Today that, at first, he didn’t want to consider Delevingne for the part, but after her audition, she proved she “understood Margo in ways that no one I have ever met understands Margo.”
He added the dramedy is different from his successful tear-jerker “The Fault in Our Stars” in “every possible way.”
“Paper Towns” hits theaters on July 24.
