The brother of killer Robert Durst said his now-jailed sibling had been stalking him and his family as recently as last month.
Douglas Durst told The New York Times in an interview published Wednesday that Robert was nine miles from Doug’s home in Palm Beach, Fla., the night of Feb. 22 as an episode of the HBO documentary “The Jinx” was airing.
“We had information that Bob was five or 10 minutes away from my house,” Douglas told The Times.
Douglas said relatives had been staying at the home that night, along with security. They lost track of Robert shortly after.
Douglas also said he feels “a tremendous sense of relief” after Robert’s arrest in New Orleans.
“I no longer am looking over my shoulder,” he said. “I’m very grateful to ‘The Jinx’ for having brought this about.”
