A renowned German violinist has been indicted for breaking into the Manhattan hotel room of a North Carolina tourist and choking her, prosecutors said Wednesday.
The exact charges against Stefan Arzberger, 42, weren’t made public but involve strangulation and burglary — the arrest raps for the March 27 incident, which The Post reported exclusively on Monday.
Naked as a jaybird, the crazed violinist banged on the 64-year-old woman’s door at the Hudson hotel and when she opened, barged in and choked her, according to the complaint.
Arzberger plays with the Leipzig String Quartet and recently performed at the Library of Congress.
A source close to the musician said the episode happened after someone slipped a drug into his drink at the hotel bar, then robbed him.
Arzberger is out on $100,000 bail.
