A-listers line up for Letterman farewell tour

David Letterman is readying his farewell tour.

CBS has announced some of the celebrity guests who will be stopping by “Late Show with David Letterman” before the talk show host’s final broadcast May 20.

Among the A-list stars are George Clooney, Robert Downey Jr., Will Ferrell, Tom Hanks, Jack Hanna, Scarlett Johansson, Michael Keaton, Steve Martin, Bill Murray, Sarah Jessica Parker, Don Rickles, Julia Roberts, Ray Romano, Paul Rudd, Jerry Seinfeld and Bruce Willis. (Murray was Letterman’s first guest on his NBC and CBS shows.)

Musical guests in the final six weeks include The Avett Brothers and Brandi Carlile, Elvis Costello, Dave Matthews Band, Emmylou Harris, Norah Jones, Mumford and Sons, Ralph Stanley and Amos Lee.

More names will be announced in the coming weeks.

Letterman is the longest-serving host in late night at 33 years, 22 of them at CBS and 11 hosting “Late Night” on NBC.

Stephen Colbert makes his “Late Show” hosting debut on Sept. 8.
