Hungry Hamptonites will have no shortage of options come July, when the season’s biggest culinary event fires up the grill.
Dan’s Taste of Summer attracts foodie fans to sample the fare of the North and South Forks of Long Island. Last year, more than 4,000 people showed up at the summer soirées that now span three events and is packed with celebrity chefs like Robert Irvine, Marc Murphy and Katie Lee.
Grill Hampton on July 17 pits Manhattan grill masters such as Joe Isidori of newly opened Black Tap Burger against the Hamptons competition, including Rumba Rum Bar’s David Hersh.
Taste of Two Forks on July 18 will feature more than 40 East End restaurants, including Beautique, Philippe and 75 Main.
The final event, Harvest East End, on Aug. 22 features local wines.
Speaking of the Hamptons, restaurateur Abraham Merchant of Merchants Hospitality is expanding the Philippe brand with The Club at Philippe, at 44 Three Mile Harbor Road.
Franco Barrio, a winner of Food Network’s “Chopped” and an alum of Casa Mono, Picholine and Eleven Madison Park, is opening Bespoke Kitchen at 615 ½ Hudson St.
The 1,600 square-foot spacewill seat 70 in the dining room, 10 at the chef’s tasting counter and 12 at the bar.
Diners get to customize their entrée by selecting their protein, sauces and various cooking techniques.
Catch, the Meatpacking District hot spot, has added 70 seats to its redesigned roof terrace, bringing the total number of outdoor seats to 150. The new space, which opens Monday, features floor to ceiling window walls.
New executive chef John Beatty will also introduce specials to the menu including grass-fed rack of lamb with ramp pesto, and hamachi with yuzu and scallions.
