A JetBlue flight headed to New Orleans was forced to make an emergency landing at Kennedy Airport Monday afternoon when a passenger reported having chest pains, according to the Port Authority Police Department.
The Airbus A320 was diverted about 50 minutes into the flight because of the 78-year-old man’s medical emergency. The passenger has a history of heart-related issues, the PAPD said.
JetBlue Flight B6401 took off from Boston’s Logan International Airport at 1:44 p.m. and was supposed to land in the Big Easy a couple of hours later.
Instead it was diverted to JFK, where it safely landed at Gate C5 at 2:41 p.m., according to FlightAware.com.
