Robin Williams voices a dog in final film role

Nearly a year to the day that Robin Williams took his own life, his final film, “Absolutely Anything,” is scheduled to hit theaters.

The trailer for the British comedy, directed by Terry Jones and starring Simon Pegg, features the late comedian voicing the role of Pegg’s dog, Dennis.

In the film, Pegg plays Neil Clarke, an ordinary guy who is bestowed with superpowers from a group of power-crazed aliens bent on destroying planet Earth. If he uses his powers for good, Earth will be spared. If he uses his powers for evil, then they will blow up the planet.

One of Clarke’s first acts is to grant his dog the ability to speak.

“Biscuits. Biscuits. Please, please, please. Nothing else matters,” the mutt says. “Come to think of it, I wouldn’t mind shagging your leg right now.”

The film, scheduled to hit theaters in the UK on Aug. 14, also stars Kate Beckinsale, Eddie Izzard and the voices of the Monty Python crew. It is the final of four films Robin Williams was involved with at the time of his death — another film, “Boulevard,” was shown at the Tribeca Film Festival and is scheduled for wide release in the US on July 17.
