Well, LL Cool J can’t say he was blindsided.
Kerry Rhodes, who patrolled the Jets’ secondary as a safety from 2005-09, has kicked off his acting career, recently starring in a short film called “Protocol,” taglined with, “The true story of a SWAT operation gone wrong.”
But he’s aiming higher, planning next to tackle the “NCIS: Los Angeles” star formerly known as James Todd Smith and take his gig, he told TMZ Sports.
“I had to channel my inner LL cool J,” Rhodes said about his role in “Protocol,” “and now I am coming for his role on ‘NCIS.’ ”
After the 2009 season, Rhodes was dealt to Arizona, where he played from 2010-12 before petering out of the league. He’s kept busy since, though appearing in nothing in the same stratosphere as CBS’ mammoth hit.
