A pedestrian jumped on the hood of a car and was killed after the motorist took off — while the victim was still clinging onto the vehicle in Staten Island, police said.
Robert Kunz, 24, was in a parking lot when he got into an argument with Robert Messina, 22, who was in a 2014 Audi sedan at South Shore Commons shopping center on Veterans Road in Charleston, according to cops.
It wasn’t immediately clear what sparked the fight, but Kunz allegedly jumped on the hood as Messina was at a red light waiting to pull out of the lot, cops said.
But that’s when Messina took off, while Kunz was still clinging to the hood, cops said.
He allegedly sped up and Kunz’s body went flying into a tree before falling on the road, sources said.
He was rushed with severe head and body trauma to Staten Island University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.
Messina fled the scene but later returned, according to cops.
He was questioned at the 123rd Precinct and charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and aggravated unlicensed operator.
