The courthouse will be busy come fall!
Disgraced ex-state Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos and his spoiled-brat son Adam will stand trial on corruption raps in November – the same month that former state Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver’s graft trial is scheduled to begin.
State Sen. Dean and Adam Skelos both pleaded not guilty to new charges in Manhattan federal court Thursday, including allegations that Adam said he’d “smash in” his boss’ head when asked why he wasn’t showing up for the no-show job his daddy won him.
Skelos and his son will begin trial Nov. 16, their lawyers and federal prosecutors agreed in court Thursday.
Silver is set to begin his trial Nov. 2.
Skelos and his son declined to comment as they left court and climbed into a waiting black car.
They were indicted on eight counts, including extortion, soliciting bribes, and wire fraud.
The father and son were arrested in May and the elder Skelos has stepped down as majority leader but maintains his Senate seat.
Silver was arrested in January for an alleged long-running $4 million bribery and kickback scheme.
He stepped down from his leadership position in late January but also retained his seat.
