Long-time Subway pitchman Jared Fogle — who shed hundreds of pounds and made millions of dollars through his sandwich-only diet — will plead guilty on Wednesday to kiddie porn charges, according to a news report.
The US Attorney’s Office in Indianapolis will hold a news conference to announce the deal with Fogle, who has been suspended by the company and scrubbed from its website and promotional material, sources told Fox 59.
Fogle’s attorney Ron Elberger had no comment.
Feds reportedly have text messages between Jared and a female Subway franchisee in which the sandwich pitchman allegedly admitted to having sex with a 16-year-old girl.
Fogle asked the woman to advertise herself for sex on Craiglist, according to Business Insider, before she asked: “Is this the same website you found that 16-year-old girl that you f–ked. . . .I still can’t believe you only paid $100 for her.’’
Jared allegedly responded: “It was amazing.”
The feds searched Fogle’s Indiana home last month after a Florida TV reporter came forward about disturbing comments made by the sandwich star.
“Middle school girls are hot,” she said Fogle told her during events at schools in Sarasota County.
“They weren’t jokes. They were very serious,” she told ABC affiliate WWSB-TV in Sarasota.
Various electronics and paperwork were confiscated from his home, but Fogle had not been criminally charged.
Elberger had maintained the allegations against Fogle were “an unrealistic fabrication.”
The probe into Fogle came two months after Russell Taylor, the former director of the pitchman’s foundation, was charged with secretly videotaping naked children — some as young as 9 — in his home bathrooms.
Taylor was found in possession of 500 kiddie-porn photos, bestiality footage and a 4GB thumb drive with his “employer listed in the file name,” the Indianapolis Star reported at the time.
It wasn’t clear whether the “employer” name referred to Fogle or his eponymous foundation, but TMZ reported that the file contained a folder labeled “Good stuff” with child porn inside.
Subway cut its ties with Fogle following the search of his Zionsville home.
The disgraced spokesman, 37, shot to fame after losing 245 pounds in one year by eating turkey and veggie Subway sandwiches.
The then-obese, 445-pound Indiana University student began chowing down at Subway in the late 1990s while running a lucrative pornography rental service out of his bedroom, according to a 2007 post on a website for VH1’s pop-culture show “Best Week Ever.”
“What got Jared hooked on Subway in the first place was laziness,” the post reads. “The sandwich chain had opened a branch on the first floor of Jared’s dorm, and what with his busy porn company, Jared began eating the sandwiches out of extreme laziness. It was the closest fast food available!”
Fogle, a dad of two, became the face of the fast-food franchise in 2000 and is worth an estimated $15 million.
Elberger didn’t return a message from The Post.
