Judy Smith — the inspiration for Kerry Washington’s character in ABC’s “Scandal” — has sold a drama project about a New Orleans family to NBC.
According to reports, the drama, titled “House of the Rising Sin,” revolves around three generations of a corrupt political family which has controlled the food-and-music-fueled Crescent City for decades.
Smith, a crisis management expert by trade, will serve as an executive producer alongside Jeremy Miller and Daniel Cohn (“Entourage”), with the latter two writing the script.
