A suspect tried to force himself on a 34-year-old woman in Bensonhurst, authorities said. He grabbed the victim from behind at 74th Street and 20th Avenue at about 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 5 and started kissing her neck, cops said. He continued his forcible advances on the porch of a nearby building but finally fled as the victim aggressively resisted, police said. He was described as about 5-foot-7 with a thin build and dark shoulder-length hair. The victim said she hadn’t been previously acquainted with the assailant.
Investigators are looking for a person of interest in a Dyker Heights residential burglary. The prowler let himself into an apartment building on 13th Avenue at approximately 10 a.m. on July 24 and pushed his way into a second-floor unit, cops said. The thief made off with $900 in cash and a wristwatch worth approximately $100, police said.
A gun-toting robber shot a man during a holdup in East Flatbush, authorities said. The 58-year-old victim was in front of an apartment building on Rockaway Parkway near Lenox Road at about 1:05 a.m. on Aug. 14 when the robber walked up and pulled a gun, cops said. He fired a single round into the victim’s right leg and then coldly ripped away a gold neck chain, police said. The victim was treated at Bellevue Hospital and released, authorities said. The suspect, believed to be in his 20s, stands about 5-foot-8 and weighs approximately 180 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes and was wearing a blue baseball cap.
A teen is in custody in the fatal shooting of a man at a Sheepshead Bay housing project, police said. Ramon Cooper, 17, was busted late Thursday on charges of murder and criminal possession of a weapon after gunning down 36-year-old Darnell Warren at about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, cops said. Cooper allegedly opened fire on Warren outside a building in the Nostrand Houses on Bragg Street near Avenue X, striking him once in the back, authorities said. First responders rushed Warren to Coney Island Hospital, but he could not be saved. Police sources described Cooper and Warren as former friends, but a motive in the slaying was not immediately clear.
The Bronx
Two thieves clad in green medical scrubs, face masks and latex gloves knocked over a cellphone store in Castle Hill last week, authorities said. Moving with surgical precision, the men stormed into the MetroPCS store on Castle Hill Avenue near Gleason Avenue at about 5:45 p.m. on Aug. 19 and approached the register, surveillance video shows. They demanded cash from a clerk as they pushed their way behind the counter, but then forced open the register themselves, police said. They pocketed about $200 in cash as well as 22 cellphones and six tablet computers, cops said. No injuries were reported, and police said the pair didn’t display scalpels or other weapons. The suspects are both believed to be in their early 20s and were wearing dark sunglasses.

A suspect pummeled his ex-girlfriend on a subway train in Jamaica with her 2-month-old daughter strapped to her chest, cops said. Marqual Ward, 22, got into a war of words with his 24-year-old former flame aboard the Manhattan-bound E train near the Sutphin Boulevard station at about 7:45 p.m. Monday, police said. When the victim tried to walk away with her child, Ward allegedly punched her in the face several times, authorities said. The victim suffered substantial pain and bruising in the attack, but the baby was unharmed. Ward was described as about 5-foot-5 and 170 pounds with blond dreadlocks. He sports several facial tattoos, including a red star between his eyebrows, and a tear tat beneath his eye.
A burglar broke into an Astoria deli and stole cash and cigarettes, cops said. The thief slipped under a metal roll-down gate and through the front door of iKraveit Foods on 30th Street near 34th Avenue at about 5:45 a.m. on Aug. 16, police said. Inside, the thief grabbed about $250 from the cash register and pocketed nine packs of Marlboro and Newport smokes, authorities said.
