How an Apple-techie turned cop helped nab a dangerous fugitive

A former Apple tech whiz-turned-NYPD cop helped nab a dangerous fugitive wanted for murder and rape in North Carolina after the suspect allegedly stole a car in Manhattan Tuesday.

Officer Adam Riddick, who did tech repair for the computer giant, used his skills after a woman’s 2014 Honda Pilot was stolen in lower Manhattan.

Riddick found the car by downloading the “Linxup” app on his cellphone and using it to trace the stolen car to Brooklyn. There, he and fellow cops found armed murder suspect Kendrick Keyanti Gregory, 21, and arrested him.

“I’m a big tech guy,” said Riddick. “It’s a very good app, very accurate. It shows the speed and the direction of the vehicle.”

On Monday, Gregory allegedly shot a 64-year-old pawnshop owner to death in North Carolina and raped a 15-year-old girl at gunpoint before committing other crimes, including a robbery in which he shot a man, authorities said.
