Anna Wintour sits in on New York Times meeting
With the F-Bombs flying, maybe Times Executive Editor Dean Baquet felt it was as good time to inject a little high-edge fashion into his staid newsroom.
On Wednesday, Vogue Editor-in-Chief and Condé Nast Artistic Director Anna Wintour made a surprise appearance at the morning news meeting of the Times top editors. The sighting was reported by fishbowlny.com, which reported she wore her trademark dark sunglasses.
Eyewear aside, her appearance begs the question: What was the magazine world’s most famous editrix doing at the Times editorial meeting?
A Vogue spokeswoman said only, “She was invited to attend by a friend.” The spokeswoman declined to ID the friend.
A Times spokesperson said that it is not rare for outsiders to attend the meeting. She, too, declined to disclose the name of the inviter.
