Well, no surprise here — AMC has renewed “The Walking Dead” for a seventh season, set to premiere next October.
AMC also renewed “TWD” live aftershow, “Talking Dead,” hosted by Chris Hardwick.
Last week’s episode of “TWD” averaged 18.2 million viewers and an almost-unheard-of 12 million viewers under 50.
That, in effect, propelled “Talking Dead” to 7.3 million viewers — its best-ever numbers for an episode not airing that night of a “Walking Dead” season finale.
ABC, meanwhile, has added three episodes to its original order for “The Muppets,” bringing that number up to 16.
While Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear et al. haven’t exactly set the world on fire vis a vis viewership, the show has performed well enough to satisfy network suits (at least for now).
