The Port Authority is considering a fee of between $2 and $4 on all taxis, Uber cars and other for-hire vehicles that pull into major airports in the area.
The fees are needed to attempt to combat growing congestion at JFK, La Guardia and Newark that has come with the rise of companies like Uber and Lyft — who wait curbside for passengers rather than lining up at a dispatch station as yellow taxis do, said PA officials.
