The Brooklyn brute who shot and killed a 16-month-old baby while aiming at the tot’s dad was slapped with a 25 years to life sentence Friday.
Cherisse Miller, the mother of little Antiq Hennis, couldn’t bear to face her son’s killer Daquan Breland and Daquan Wright, the man who handed him the gun, in Brooklyn Supreme Court, but her sister read an emotional letter from her.
“I don’t care if these guys die of natural causes,” sister Cherina Miller read. “My honey brown baby boy is not here to bring me joy.”
Cherisse accused both men of targeting her accused gangbanger boyfriend Anthony Hennis in 2013 in order to elevate their own street status.
Hennis was pushing little Antiq in a stroller at the time.
“That wasn’t an accident. They just wanted to get their names up,” the still-grieving mom wrote.
Wright, 21, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for handing Breland, 25, the .45-caliber gun used in the Brownsville shooting.
“I’ll be back on appeal,” Wright mumbled to Judge Neil Firetog.
Cherina said no amount of time could mend her heartbroken family.
“As my sister said, the family is very dysfunctional now,” she said. “[Wright and Breland] still get to breathe – the baby will never breathe again.”
Breland’s lawyer said he also plans to appeal.
