This is the droid she’s looking for.
Daisy Ridley, who is sure to become famous overnight as the lead heroine in the upcoming “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” looks space-age chic as the cover girl for the December issue of Elle magazine — in which she talks about how hard it was to keep her role a secret.
“I couldn’t tell any of my friends,” she tells the magazine. “I told my mum and my sisters — then my sister told her boyfriend, and my mum told her friend. I was like, ‘Great, guys — you are great.’”
But now that the secret’s out, she’s excited about being known as Rey, who is rumored to have some familial connections to the original “Star Wars” crew.
“[Rey is] so strong,” she says. “She’s cool and smart, and she can look after herself. Young girls can look at her and know that they can wear trousers if they want to, that they don’t have to show off their bodies.”
