A band of monkeys sent bricks raining down onto a priest in India as he cleaned outside his home this week, tragically killing him.
Temple priest Munna Mishra was sweeping the walk to his house in the city of Patna on Monday when he was fatally hit by a brick dropped by a group of monkeys that congregated on the terrace of his house, according to a report.
He was rushed to Nalanda Medical College and Hospital where he died from his injuries, making him the third area victim to die due to monkey attacks recently, locals said.
“They not only snatch vegetables and other good from the hands of people but also bite them,” local Jeetendera Singh told the Daily Mail, referring to the monkeys.
Singh added that animals have even bitten several area women and children in the past week.
“Some school children have also become their target,” he said.
Local authorities and forest officials have been ordered to catch any wild monkeys and turn them over to Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park – a popular zoo in Patna.
