Accused killer Robert Durst is expected to plead guilty to gun charges in New Orleans later this week.
The creepy real estate scion is scheduled to appear in US District Court on Thursday after his lawyers requested a second plea hearing last month.
Experts think Durst’s lawyers may have negotiated a deal that will allow him to spend his federal sentence in California as he awaits a murder trial in the 2000 murder of his close friend Susan Berman.
Durst is anxious to clear his name, his lawyer said, and his legal team is hoping to have to have his trial began before the end of the year, according to CBS News.
The 1982 disappearance of Durst’s first wife, Kathleen, along with Berman’s execution-style killing was featured in HBO’s six-part documentary, “The Jinx.”
The season ended with Durst saying on a hot mic he “killed them all.”
He was arrested the same day of the final episode — March 14 — on a Los Angeles murder warrant for Berman’s death after new evidence emerged.
Authorities arrested the 72-year-old at a New Orleans hotel — and found a loaded revolver, $42,000 in cash and multiple fake IDs.
