Justin Bieber can thank a former Knick for helping to wash away his many sins.
The pop star, whose “reformation” takes center stage in an article from GQ’s January issue, sought guidance from pastor-of-the-stars Carl Lentz following his fall from grace in 2013. Feeling “ravaged by feelings of loss,” Bieber reportedly told his holy companion he wanted to be baptized.
Wanting to appease his A-list follower, Lentz sought out his pal, NBA center Tyson Chandler, at 2 a.m. on a cold winter’s night in January nearly two years ago.
Chandler, who was playing for the Knicks at the time before being traded to the Mavericks that offseason and then signing with the Suns, offered up his Upper West Side pad after learning Lentz’s desired locales were swarmed by the paparazzi. With the pool in his building shut down for the night, Chandler and Co. opted for the bathtub instead.
While some would say that Bieber’s dip didn’t exactly do the singer any good — he was busted for a DUI just weeks later, not to mention the 21-year-old’s lengthy list of troubles last year — the chart-topper has been attempting to rehab his image for several months now.
And with 2016 just a few weeks away, it seems the Biebs is finally ready to say “Sorry” in the New Year.
