Real estate mogul Elie Hirschfeld — known for renting his East Hampton mansion for two summers to Bill and Hillary Clinton in 2011 and 2012 until a dispute over a security deposit took the couple elsewhere (there were also some privacy concerns) — won a bidding war for a new beach estate.
Hirschfeld paid around $500,000 over the asking price to buy 175 Dune Road in Westhampton Beach for around $14 million, Gimme Shelter reports exclusively.
Hirschfeld, we hear, plans on keeping his 211 Lily Pond Lane residence and using his new digs as an investment property. The Dune Road home is 6,000 square feet and comes with seven bedrooms and 6½ bathrooms — all on nearly 2 acres. There’s also a heated gunite pool and 225 feet of oceanfront.
It is currently on the market as a summer rental, asking $400,000 from Memorial Day through Labor Day, with Victoria Reynolds, of Norma Reynolds Sotheby’s International Realty.
Hirschfeld’s broker, Linda Zelin, of Corcoran, declined to comment.
