Teen charged in Brooklyn assault allowed back in school

A 17-year-old student charged with helping assault and rob a Brooklyn man was freed on bail — and then allowed to slip back into his high school without teachers or classmates being notified, The Post has learned.

“One of the students said her parents wouldn’t have sent her to school if they knew he was in the building,” a furious Midwood HS insider said of Eldin Sabovic, who allegedly committed the New Year’s Eve crime with a 19-year-old accomplice.

The accomplice beat up the 55-year-old victim, leaving him with a gash on his forehead that required 70 stitches, while Sabovic swiped his cellphone and wallet, cops said.

Sabovic showed up at school Friday and was seen again Monday, insiders said.

“This is wrong. This student should be taught in an alternative setting, not mingling with students at Midwood HS,” Greg Floyd, head of the Teamsters union local that represents school safety officers.

A city Department of Education rep said it could not discuss Sabovic’s schooling.
