Police Commissioner Bill Bratton claimed Sunday that the NYPD was ill-prepared for a terrorist attack on 9/11.
“The reality is that in Belgium, they were not [ready], that they have a relatively small police force,” Bratton said on the “Cats Roundtable” 970 AM radio show, referring to the deadly March attacks.
“And like ourselves before 9/11, we were not prepared, and that’s why we had 911, because we weren’t doing enough to protect ourselves against terrorism,” Bratton added.
Bratton’s comments follow his counterterrorism trip to the Gulf of Arabia. He says he signed an agreement with Qatar for the “exchange of information.”
