A man is wanted for attempting to rob a bank in Boerum Hill, police said. The suspect entered Ponce de Leon Bank at 169 Smith St. on Wednesday at 3:20 p.m. and demanded money, cops said. The teller refused and the suspect fled empty handed, police said. He was last seen wearing a camouflage jacket, black pants and a cap.
A man who grabbed a 7-year-old girl’s butt at a Williamsburg supermarket has been arrested, cops said. Pasquale Vittiburga, 53, approached the girl in the Southside Food Plaza on Bedford Avenue and groped her Monday at about 5:30 p.m., police said. Vittiburga fled the store, but was picked up Wednesday night and charged with sex abuse, forcible touching and acting in a manner injurious to a child under 17.
A man was critically injured in East New York when he was struck by a drunken driver who circumvented the court-ordered ignition lock on his car following a prior DWI charge, police said. Herbert Washington, 60, crashed his Nissan sedan into the 48-year-old victim as he was crossing the street near the corner of Stanley and Van Sicklen avenues around 9 p.m. Wednesday, cops said. The victim was rushed to Brookdale Hospital in critical condition. Washington was charged with DWI, circumventing the interlock device and failure to yield.
Two muggers punched a restaurant delivery man and took his cellphone in Bushwick, cops said. The 37-year-old man was attacked on April 25 at about 10 p.m. in front of 1318 Halsey St., police said. The victim dropped his cellphone as he ran away from the thugs. One of the muggers grabbed the phone before both of them took off. One suspect is described as being in his late teens or early 20s and was wearing a light-colored hooded sweater and light-colored sweat pants. The second suspect was believed to be the same age and was wearing a dark hooded sweater.
Manhattan
A man was in serious condition after he was stabbed at a Lower East Side bar, police sources said. The 37-year-old got in a fight with a stranger inside The Delancey bar at 168 Delancey St. Wednesday at about 4 a.m., sources said. The fight spilled outside and the victim was slashed above the right ear, the back of his head and the left side of his neck, sources said. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital and listed in serious but stable condition.
Staten Island
Police are looking for two crooks wanted for mugging a 24-year-old woman in St. George. the duo approached the victim in front of 41 Victory Blvd. on Feb. 19 at about 4 a.m. One of the men pulled out a silver firearm and snatched her handbag before both took off on foot northbound on Bay Street, police said. There were no reported injuries. One of the suspects was described as about 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds with a thin build and beard. He was last seen wearing black sweat pants, black and white sneakers, a gray hooded sweat shirt and a black leather jacket with a white cross on the back. The second man was described as being about 5-foot-7 and about 180 pounds.
The Bronx
Four men attacked and robbed a man in Soundview, then used his credit cards to buy food, police said. The victim was standing in front of 1218 Leland Ave. at 5:50 a.m. on April 22 when the suspects approached him from behind, cops said. One of the suspects punched the man in the face and removed his handbag, making off with $250 and the victim’s debit and credit cards, according to police. The suspects fled in a vehicle and headed to a McDonald’s a few miles away where they purchased food with the stolen credit cards, police said.
